Assign Hydraulic Information to Model
FNI will utilize pipe material and age data to assign Mannings "N" values to all pipe segments in
the model. In addition, FNI will populate hydraulic information for siphons and other special
structures, such as junction boxes, weirs, and split manholes.
Incorporate Detailed Lift Station Data
Lift Station and Force Main as -built information provided by the City will be entered into the
model. FNI will review as -built drawings and operational data provided by the City to obtain
physical data (wet well dimensions, pump curves, force main material and pressure rating, etc.)
and develop initial controls for the model. Identify missing lift station data needing field
verification including physical dimensions, pump performance data and any missing force main
information.
Sewer Basin Delineation and Subcatchment Generation
Review and update sewer basin delineation using GIS Shapefile and ground contour mapping.
Develop sewer subbasin delineation representing meter areas and geographical areas within
each sewer basin. Generate subcatchments for each sewer subbasin showing which areas feed
into each sewer manhole using Thiessen polygons within their respective flow meter basins.
FNI shall prepare detailed mapping and meet with the City to review the sewer basin, subbasin
and subcatchment mapping results.
Conduct Data Flagging & Prepare Geodatabases for Submittal to City
FNI will assign data flags for all sources of the model physical links, nodes, flow files and
geodatabases and provide to City GIS personnel to allow updating of GIS to reflect corrected
information for all 12 -inch and larger sewer lines. Data flagging will be provided with final GIS
submittal to the City. FNI will provide a key showing data flagging sources.
Model Development Technical Memorandum (TM -2)
FNI will prepare and submit five (5) copies of a technical memorandum, TM -2, summarizing the
process used for model development..
Workshop #1: Review Flow Monitoring (TM -1) and Model Development (TM -2)
FNI will meet with City to discuss results of the flow monitoring. Wastewater model
development will also be discussed. City comments will be solicited and addressed.
TASK D: WASTEWATER SYSTEM MODEL CALIBRATION
D1. Existing Wastewater Flow Data Importation into the Model
Geocoded water billing data will be used to assign flows to manholes in the model. Major
customers will be located and allocated as a point loading.
WW Master Plan Engineer Services (Engineering Services) — February 2012
14
