8. Chapter 458 of the Texas Transportation Code requires the convening of a "public <br />transit conference" by the City of San Marcos which, through public notification to all political <br />subdivisions likely to be included within the new small urbanized area, establishes a date, time <br />and location for the convening of the Public Transportation Conference no less than 30 days after <br />notice regarding the convening of the conference is posted. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to post notice through <br />newspapers of general circulation and other electronic media for the convening of a "Public <br />Transportation Conference" in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 458 of the Texas <br />Transportation Code and to take all other action required under said Chapter 458 related thereto. <br />PART 2. The Mayor is authorized to appoint an elected official to represent the City <br />of San Marcos at the Public Transportation Conference. <br />PART 3. The Public Transportation Conference will be held no earlier than 30 days <br />after notice of the convening of such conference is legally posted. <br />PART 4.
