2012 -19, approving an amendment to the City's Land Development Code to establish a <br />minimum period between the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />regarding a Zoning Map Amendment, and consideration by the City Council of that <br />Amendment; including procedural provisions, and consider approval of Ordinance 2012- <br />19. <br />Rodney Cobb, Director of Community Services, provided a brief presentation. <br />Mayor Guerrero opened the public hearing at 7:15p.m. <br />Dianne Wassenich, 11 Tanglewood Trail, speaking for the San Marcos River Foundation; part of <br />the River Recreation Task Force, expressed her support of the proposed amendments. <br />Chad Williams, MLK, spoke against banning alcohol in Rio Vista Park and asked Council to ban <br />it in neighborhood parks instead. <br />Jaimy Breihan, 134 E. Hillcrest, spoke in favor of the ordinance. <br />Gary Aalen, inaudible address, spoke in support of the ordinance. <br />There being no further comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 7:23 p.m. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Becak and a second by Council Member <br />Thomason the City Council, MOTION TO AMEND: Upon a motion made by Council <br />Member Thomaides and a second by Council Member Scott, the City Council voted (7) for and <br />(0) opposed, to include a review of this Ordinance by January 1, 2013. MAIN MOTION: the <br />City Council voted (6) for and (1) opposed, Council Member Prather, to approve Ordinance <br />2012 -19, as previously captioned. The motion carried. <br />23.7:OOPM Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments for <br />or against Ordinance 2012 -19, approving an amendment to the City's Land Development <br />Code to establish a minimum period between the recommendation of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission regarding a Zoning Map Amendment, and consideration by the City <br />Council of that Amendment; including procedural provisions; and consider approval of <br />Ordinance 2012 -19. <br />Matthew Lewis, Director of Development Services, provided a brief presentation. <br />Mayor Guerrero opened the public hearing at 8:27 p.m. <br />Jim Garber, 104 Canyon Fork, asked that the Council extend the time period to 14 days instead <br />of 7 days. <br />Jaimy Breihan,.134 E. Hillcrest, asked that the Council extend the time period beyond 7 days. <br />There being no further comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:30 p.m. <br />
