<br />1 H. The pH in the finished water shall be maintained at levels which are compatible <br />2 with the pH in the existing groundwater supply. <br />3 I. Fluoride concentrations in the finished water shall be maintained between 0.8 and <br />4 1.0 mg/l. <br />5 J. The finished water shall be in full compliance with all of the Maximum <br />6 Contaminant Levels (MCLs) promulgated under the Safe Drinking Water Act, as amended. <br />7 K. The filtered water shall be in full compliance with the turbidity limits established <br />8 under the pending Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule. <br />9 <br />10 ARTICLE 10 - OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE <br />11 <br />12 GBRA shall operate, maintain, and manage the Project at all times in accordance with the <br />13 terms and provisions of this Contract, and in compliance with Applicable Law, the Operation <br />14 and Maintenance Manual, and Prudent Industry Practices. GBRA shall keep the Project in <br />15 good repair and working order and shall manage, operate, and maintain the Project in a <br />l6 professional, efficient, and economical manner. GBRA shall provide uninterrupted <br />17 management, operation, and maintenance ofthe Project on a continuous, 24 hours per day, <br />18 seven days per week basis to meet potable water capacity as required by the City. GBRA <br />19 shall promptly notify the City of any operational or maintenance changes. lfthe changes will <br />20 cause, or amount to, a Project Modification as defined in Article 7 of the Contract, GBRA <br />21 shall obtain approval from the City prior to initiating the changes. GBRA's operational <br />22 decision making shall always be based on the following objectives: <br />23 1. Produce potable water that meets all Federal, State, and local laws and <br />24 regulations, and aU Performance Standards in Schedule 1 of the Contract; <br />25 2. Protect the health and welfare of the public; <br />26 3. Protect the health and safety of the Project operating staff; <br />27 4. Preserve the long-term capability of the Project to supply potable water; <br />28 5. Protect and preserve the Project equipment and facilities; and <br />29 6. Maximize Project operational effiCiency and minimize operational costs. <br />30 <br />31 Section 10.01 - Maintenance Performance Specifications. <br />32 A. Routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance is GBRA's responsibility, and <br />33 the costs for labor, services, and materials, including lubricants, filters, belts, and all other <br />34 consumable materials, are an integral part of the Service Fee. GBRA is also responsible for <br />35 performing all corrective maintenance. GBRA must monitor and enforce all equipment <br />36 warranties and perform all activities in accordance with the operating and maintenance <br />37 requirements and recommendations of equipment manufacturers to preserve warranties, both <br />38 for those in effect on the effective date of this Contract and those for equipment purchased <br />39 after the effective date of this Contract. <br />40 B. GBRA shall comply with the schedule of all routine, preventive, and predictive <br />41 maintenance activities, and all recommended corrective maintenance activities within the <br />42 O&M Manual described below.
