The Council returned into regular session at approximately 6:15 p.m. Council provided direction <br />to Staff to move forward during the executive session. <br />5. Presentation and demonstration of new City of San Marcos website, and provide <br />direction to Staff. <br />Melissa Millecam, Director of Communications, provided a brief presentation on the new City of <br />San Marcos website. <br />6. Discussion and direction to staff regarding the allocation of 2012 Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) Grant Funds for the 2012 Action Plan. <br />Janis Hendrix, Community Initiatives Program Administrator, provided Council with the <br />applications for consideration for the 2012 Action Plan and addressed any questions or concerns <br />the Council may have had. <br />7. Invocation <br />Invocation provided by Pastor Dennis Spire with Calvary Baptist Church <br />8. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Pledges were led by Karl Torres, a 5th grade student from Hernandez Elementary <br />9. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Melissa Derrick, 109 Kathryn Cove, very happy about C &G Development and bringing some <br />single family in that area, but is concerned about the multifamily retirement facility, but would <br />like to see it on the purgatory creek side so that it is not overloaded. Spoke on the Parks <br />ordinance and spoke about the alcohol and consumption vs. display. <br />Jaimy Breihan, 134 E. Hillcrest, spoke in regards to the river issue and personally in favor of <br />controls being put in place on the partying, and turning it over to families. <br />Sara Lee Underwood, 1424 Harper Dr, came to introduce herself as an applicant of the Main <br />Street Advisory Board, and asked Council for their positive consideration. She would also like <br />to be considered for another board if this opportunity is not available. <br />Drew Lolley, 118 Cedar Grove, spoke in regards his Main Street Advisory Board application and <br />asked Council for their positive consideration. <br />Monica De La Rosa, 110 Lockwood, spoke against the banning of alcohol and BBQ grills in City <br />parks and spoke on a petition that has been circulated. She stated that there were over 1000 <br />signatures against the banning of alcohol in City parks. <br />
