<br />SECTION 5. The Annual Program of Services for the Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund in the 1999-2000 <br />Budget is approved as the City's promotional program to attract tourists and convention registrants <br />to the City through <br /> <br />(a) a contract with the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce for tourism promotional <br />servIces; <br /> <br />(b) a contract with the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for tourism <br />promotional services; and <br /> <br />(c) the operation of the Main Street Program to encourage tourists and convention <br />registrants to visit the Downtown Historical District. <br /> <br />SECTION 6. The table of positions for each Civil Service Classification in the Police and Fire <br />Departments kept on file in the City Secretary's office is amended in accordance with Section 2.373 <br />ofthe City Code and Section 143.021 ofthe Texas Local Government Code to read as follows: <br /> <br />Classification <br /> <br />Number of Positions <br /> <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Police Officer (including trainees) 58 <br />Police Sergeant 11 <br />Police Commander 5 <br />Police Assistant Director 2 <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Fighters (including trainees) 9 <br />Driver/Engineer 12 <br />Fire Lieutenant 6 <br />Fire Captain 3 <br />Assistant Fire Chief 1 <br /> <br />SECTION 7. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is held to be <br />unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of this ordinance <br />will continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. <br /> <br />SECTION 8. All ordinances and resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict with <br />this ordinance are repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 9.
