will advise the City of data and information the Engineer needs to perform its services, and
the Engineer will meet with City representatives at mutually convenient times to assemble
this data and information.

1.2 TASK 1 - INTERIM AND FINAL PLANS

For all ten crossing locations the Engineer will:

Survey

1.2.1 Provide land surveying for design and layout CADD work, and provide for field
surveys and perform related office computations and drafting for the purpose of collecting
information required for design.

1.2.2 Perform survey work to include horizontal and vertical control adequately
documented for the final plans. Horizontal control will be based on the Texas State Plane
Grid Coordinate System (NAD83). The vertical control will be based on the U.S.
Geological Survey (USGS) datum and Benchmarks will be established not more than 1000
feet apart at an accuracy of 0.01 feet.

1.2.3 Tie visible topographic features to the Project center lines and include existing
property or lease lines, property or lease corners, utilities and appurtenances, roadways,
structures, railroad structures, trees over six inches in diameter, and other topographic
features within the limits of construction and 25 feet beyond.

Geotechnical

1.2.4 Explore the subsurface materials and conditions at the sites by drilling ten borings
to a maximum depth of 15 feet, one boring at each of the ten crossings.

1.2.5 Conduct subsurface water observations ;n each boring before drilling fluid is used
to advance the borings.

1.2.6 Determine existing conditions, strength and index properties, and characteristics of
the subsurface materials by appropriate laboratory tests and present the results of the
analyses in three copies of a written engineering report. The Engineer will use the
information obtained to establish the excavatability and hardness of the subsurface
materials.

Preliminary Engineering

1.2.7 Review the existing records of the City concerning the existing water lines and
review existing plans, maps records, data and other available information as necessary.

1.2.8 Conduct one site visit to all locations, to perform site analysis and to determine site

2
