FORM 14-PROJECT EQUIPMENT-page 2

Connectivity Hardware and Cabling - Total Cost $28.200

The folloWing switches, routers, cabling and patch panel are needed to add the additional 26

PC's and three network printers to the city network. The 3660 Cisco router will support Fast Ethernet

connections, a requirement for a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN). The VLANwill allow the library

to be its own subnetwork within the citywide network and will manage IP addressing. This will improve

the library's ability to access the remote databases supplied by the Texas State Library. The following

budget figures include the cost of equipment and installation.
1 3660 CISCO Router = $22,000
1 1900 CISCO Switch = $2,000
26 runs of cat 5 UTP @ $150 each = $3,900
1 48-port patch panel = $300
LOCALLY FUNDED EQUIPMENT/SOFTW ARE:
The Friends of the Library are providing a cash match in the amount of $10,140 which will be
used to purchase the six computer carrels and ten tables we will need for the new PC's. They will also
purchase Cyberpatrol (filtering software) for nineteen of the new PC's so that children may use these

terminals. Access to unfiltered Internet will continue to be available to patrons who are over 18 on seven

of the new terminals.

19 Cyberpatrol Filtering Software @ $40 each = $ 760

6 Computer Carrels for Internet Workstations @ $730 each = $4,380

10 Computer Tables for Training Room @ $500 each = $5,000
