He stated he feels <br />this is a most appropriate form of support. He also stated he fully <br />supports this Resolution. 5) Mike Dishman stated he wished to speak on <br />Item 13, a Resolution expressing support for President Bush and United <br />States Armed Forces. He stated he would rather speak at the agenda item. <br />6) Amy Parham stated she wished to speak on Item 27, a motion regarding <br />setting a Workshop to discuss The Village. She stated she wanted the <br />Council to know she was present in case they had any questions. 7) Will <br />Dustan stated he wished to speak on Item 28, a discussion regarding solid <br />waste. He stated he was opposed to including the commercial contract with <br />the residential solid waste contract. 8) Jill Florez stated she wished to <br />speak on Item 13, a Resolution expressing support for President Bush and <br />United States Armed Forces. She stated she is a local business owner with <br />a college degree and she was offended by the Mayor's comments in the <br />Austin American Statesmen regarding protesting disgusting him. She stated <br />she wants peace and feels the Resolution should be reworded to support <br />diversity. <br /> <br />May~ Habingreither introduced the Staff Report. Mr. 0'Leary stated he <br />did not have a Staff Report for this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Michael <br />Motott to complete a vacancy as the Downtown Association representative, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration two appointments to the <br />Youth Commission. Ms. Tatum moved to appoint Latisha Williams as the Gary <br />Job Corps (youth) representative and Mr. Mayhew moved to appoint Jeff <br />Jackson as the Youth Service Bureau (adult), which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />San Marcos Electric Board. Mr. Taylor moved to appoint Bill Watson as the <br />Master Electrician, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Human Services Advisory Board to fill a vacancy. Ms. Narvaiz moved to <br />appoint Chiquandra Cross, Mr. Taylor moved to appoint Ronald Yates and Mr. <br />Mayhew moved to appoint Donna Murphree. On roll the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />Cross: Narvaiz and Tatum. <br /> <br />Yates: Taylor. <br /> <br />Murphree: Mihalkanin, Montoya, Habingreither and Mayhew. <br /> <br />Ms. Murphree was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Human Services <br />Advisory Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
