<br />3.7 Impact of Disasters
<br />
<br />Hays County and all participating communities in Hays County have not received federal
<br />funding from any of the following federal programs:

<br />. Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Program
<br />. Property Protection-Mitigation (PP-M) Program
<br />
<br />Disaster events can create devastating impacts on citizens, the local and regional economy, and
<br />city and county governments. The resulting economic loss from the disaster is rarely
<br />compensated by insurance and occasionally State and/or Federal funding can offset the loss. Of
<br />the twelve communities in Hays County, only Hays County and the City of San Marcos have
<br />received funding for disaster response. Neither Hays County nor any of the eleven (11)
<br />incorporated communities have received funding for Pre Disaster Mitigation (PDM) planning
<br />projects, Public Assistance (PA) program projects, Project Impact (PI), or Property Protection-
<br />Mitigation (PP-M) program projects. Lamarr Petersen, Hays County Grants
<br />Accountant/Monitor, provided the following Hays County Past Disaster Event information and
<br />reimbursements received from FEMA, NRCS, State of Texas, Office of Rural Community
<br />Affairs (ORCA) or other sources:
