<br />HilV" C:OL <br /> <br /> <br />_i..' ~ 1 <br /> <br />research Appraisal District records and other sources to identify property owners located <br />downstream of dams and spillways and to create the Emergency Response Database. <br /> <br />5.6 Public Information (CRS Activity 511.7.6) <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Map Information: The Hays County Mitigation Planning Committee has made available to the <br />public for review a countywide Hazards Map that identifies the hazards as stated in this Plan. <br />The public can review this information at the Hays County OEM and City of San Marcos OEM <br />Offices. <br /> <br />Outreach Projects: The Hays County OEM maintains information relating to floodplain <br />management, severe weather warnings, hazardous materials incidents, fires, etc on the <br />community website: www.havs.co.tx.us. <br /> <br />Librarv: Flood Protection Reference documents are located at the City of San Marcos <br />Engineer's Office and the City of San Marcos Public Library. Reference materials, FEMA <br />publications, and other literature related to floodplain management, hazardous materials, <br />tornadoes, windstorms, power outages is available to the public. The City of San Marcos Flood <br />Insurance Study with accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Hays County and the <br />various communities, as well as FEMA and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) <br />documents are also available there for reference or available on line at www.fema.gov <br />Citizens are encouraged to review the literature on a periodic basis. <br /> <br />Real Estate Disclosure: In the Hays County Mitigation Planning Committee's effort to I <br />maintain public awareness, they have partnered with the real estate community. Brokers and <br />real estate agents have been offered copies of the City of San Marcos Flood Insurance Study <br />(FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM's) for Hays County and all communities. <br />Continuing the effort to update new agents, the County conducts public awareness and training <br />on how to read the FIS and FIRM, what building requirements exist in relation to the <br />delineated flood prone areas and other hazards. Public awareness and/or training are conducted <br />on a quarterly basis or as needed. <br /> <br />Mitigation Plan Questionnaires/Survevs: As outlined in Plan Section lA, a mitigation plan <br />questionnaire was distributed throughout Hays County on both the Hays County and City of <br />San Marcos websites. A copy of the questionnaire and an analysis of public response are <br />described in Attachment D. <br /> <br />Public Meeting: A Public Meeting was held in Hays County to present the Draft Hays County <br />Mitigation Plan and to provide the opportunity for the Public to participate in the planning <br />process.
