Mitigation Plan Schedule, Involve the Public, and Coordinate with Other <br />Agencies (CRS Activity 511.1,511.2, and 511.3) <br /> <br />The overall schedule of Plan activities for the development, implementation, adoption, <br />evaluation, and annual review and maintenance of the Hays County Mitigation Plan following <br />the planning elements outlined in FEMA's Community Rating System, identified as CRS <br />Activity 511.1 though 511.10, is as follows: <br /> <br />Minutes from each Meeting are maintained in the Hays County OEM Files. <br /> <br />April 24,2003 <br /> <br />Committee Meeting #1 to Organize to Prepare the Plan. Committee <br />members representing Hays County and each community were <br />identified and briefed on the proposed scope and schedule for the <br />Hays County Mitigation Plan including future committee meetings <br />to discuss: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ How to involve the public <br />~ Develop and distribute a questionnaire <br />~ Involve 'Other Agencies' <br />~ Assess the hazard (Risk Assessment) <br />~ Assess the problem (Vulnerability Analysis) <br />~ Set goals <br />~ Identify possible activities <br />~ Prepare a Draft Plan for Hays County and each Community to <br />adopt <br />~ Review questionnaire responses <br />~ Conduct a public meeting <br />~ Plan adoption <br />~ State and FEMA approvals <br />~ Plan maintenance and future updates <br /> <br />May 27, 2003 <br /> <br />A News Release was published in the San Marcos Daily Record, <br />containing an announcement that a comprehensive hazard plan was <br />being developed for the County and all incorporated communities. <br /> <br />May 27, 2003 <br /> <br />The National Weather Service launches "Turn Around Don't <br />Drown" Campaign with a news release in the San Marcos Daily <br />Record. <br /> <br />May 29,2003 <br /> <br />Meeting #2 of the Hays County Mitigation Planning Committee was <br />held to identify natural and technological hazards, existing plans and <br />studies, and methods to involve the public. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />June 20, 2003 <br /> <br />Letter sent to "Other Agencies" notifying them of initiation of the <br />Hays County Mitigation Plan effort and requesting input into the <br />planning process. <br /> <br />Ha~'s counly, Texas <br />Miligalion Plan <br />]6 <br />
