I

I

I

Form 6b. Project Cost Evaluation (add additional pages as necessary)

ProvIde an evaluation of the costs associated with the proposed project. Explain how the total
related costs of the proposed project were adequately considered; compare project costs to
established averages or to normal costs for similar projects. Present the costs in unit terms, such
as cost per ton, cost per customer, or cost per capita, as applicable. Describe any measurable
costs savings, or reasonably justIfied costs of the project.

The City of San Marcos has an existing budget for HHW disposal and receives money from
Hays County. We expect to pay the operating and disposal costs with the money we have been
paymg for disposal only at our yearly events. Hays County residents represented 34 percent of
the participants in our 2006 event but their contribution for disposal was only 18 percent of the
total cost of $32,650.11. We want to keep the facility open to Hays County and the surrounding
communities and have petitioned the surrounding communities for some disposal expenses
without any response. This building would allow us to keep the disposal costs down by
recycling usable material and keep the facility open to all residents of Hays County. Every
permanent facility that I have contacted says that the paint they recycle is always in demand by
the public.

Project Application
Form 6b

Page of
