If the proposed project is an ongoing service, demonstrate the ability to sustain the program beyond the term of the grant. Explain the extent to which the appropriate governing bodies support the proposed project. The City of San Marcos has coordmated and conducted annual HHWC events in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and allowed Hays County to participate. Prior to that, we took part in the Regional HHWC events. San Marcos budgets HHW disposal costs annually. We anticipate operating the permanent facility and paying disposal costs with the same amount of money previously budgeted for disposal only. List any previously demonstrated commitment to preferred solid waste management practice, such as implementing other solid waste management projects, involvement in a local or subregional sohd waste management plan or study, or membership in the TCEQ's Clean Texas Program. The City of San Marcos, along with Hays County, held annual events for the last 3 years. Demonstrate a good record of past grant contractual performance. We were awarded a grant for a permanent facility in February 2006. We have gone out for bids for a Storage building and are in the process of setting up the site.
