Capital Area Rural Transit System made a presentation to the conferees at <br />the urban -rural transit system workshop regarding its commitments to the urban -rural <br />transit system district; and <br />9. The conferees representing the San Marcos urbanized area resolved on <br />July 16, 2012, to request Capital Area Rural Transportation System to create a combined <br />urban -rural transit district pursuant to the provisions Of CHAPTER 458 OF THE TEXAS <br />TRANSPORTATION CODE and to request the City Council of the City of San Marcos to <br />support Capital Area Rural Transit System's creation of a combined urban -rural district, <br />and confirm the City's participation in the new combined urban -rural transit district for <br />fiscal years 2013 through 2015. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1: That the City Council of the City of San Marcos declares its support for Capital <br />Area Rural Transit System's (CARTS) creation of a combined urban -rural transit district <br />pursuant to the provisions of CHAPTER 458 OF THE TEXAS TRANSPORTATION CODE based <br />upon the resolution and Capital Area Rural Transportation System's commitments to the <br />urban -rural transit district. Additionally, the City confirms its participation in a combined <br />urban -rural transit district. <br />PART 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute documents, if any are required, <br />evidencing the City's support for Capital Area Rural Transit System's creation of a <br />combined urban -rural transit district, and to confirm the City's participation in such <br />district for fiscal years 2013 - 2015. <br />PART 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage <br />and adoption. <br />ADOPTED this the 21 st day of August, 2012. <br />mel Guerrero <br />Mayor <br />
