after the anuexation. For such areas, the City wilI uotify tile Contractor of the address of residential units <br />to add for services under this Contract during the two year period. A~er the two year period, the <br />Contractor wilI provide services under this Coutract for all residential units in such areas. <br /> <br /> C. The Contractor will propose and implement measures to preveut spillage with tile mode of <br />collection (automated/senti-automated) used by the Contractor (See section 1.4.1, Quality). <br /> <br />D. Tile cost for tbis service will be included in tile cost per month for basic residential service. <br /> <br />1.3.2 Residential Unit Recvclable Materials <br /> <br /> A. The Contractor will collect the following recyclable materials from each residential unit in the <br />contract area one (1) time per week on the same day as one of the two weekly solid waste collectious: <br /> <br />Alumiuum beverage cans <br />Ferrous calls <br />Clear glass <br />CoIored glass <br />Newsprint/magazines <br />Polyethyleue terephthalate (PET) aad high density polyethylene plastics (HDPE) <br />Direct mail advertisements <br /> <br />Witb tile Director's approval, tile Contractor will have the right to add or delete material types froul time <br />to time based upon the commercial markets for the materials. Customers will not be required to separate <br />materials by type prior to collectiou. All recyclable materials collected by tile Contractor will become its <br />property. <br /> <br /> B. Tile Contractor will furnish each residential unit with one new recycling bin. The Coutractor will <br />not substitute used recycling bins during the term of this Contract for those originally provided to <br />customers, tf a customer's bin is in aeed of replacement, however, tile Contractor may replace the bin <br />with a used bin if the bin is ill a condition acceptable to the Director. Customers will be required to nse <br />recycling bins provided by the Contractor for setting out materials for pickup. <br /> <br /> C. The Contractor will not limit, except as may otherwise be noted in this Contract, the amount of <br />recyclable materials residents place out for removal. <br /> <br /> D. Tile Coutractor will notify tile City of all instauces where the Contractor decliues to collect <br />recyclable materials and the reason for it. Tile Director will investigate all instances of "ilo pickups," <br />whether reported by the Coutractor or by customers, and advise the customer of the reasons, or require the <br />Coutractor to collect the material. The Director will act in reasonable manner in deciding these issues, <br />aud the Director's decision will be final. <br /> <br /> E. The Contractor will discontinue recyclable materials collection services to any location as set <br />forth in a writteu notice sent to tbe Contractor by the City. The Coutractor will resume collection service <br />at the location on the next regularly scheduled collection day upon written notice from the City. <br /> <br /> F. The Contractor will use its best efforts to bave all recyclable materials collected by it processed at <br />a recyclable materials separation/processing site. The Contractor will ensure that any such site used by it <br />is properly licensed or permitted by the State of Texas and other governmental entities having <br />jurisdiction. The Contractor wilI dispose of materials, which caunot be utilized by recycliug markets, at a <br />legally licensed and permitted municipal solid waste facility.
