L. fi'iable and/or uonfi'iable asbestos waste; <br /> <br /> M. empty contaiuers which have been used for pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or rodenticides; <br />or containerized waste (e.g., a drum, barrel, portable tank, box, pail, etc.) of a type listed in this definition; <br /> <br /> N. residue or debris from tile cleanup of a spill or release of chemical substances, commercial <br />products or other wastes listed in this definition; <br /> <br /> O. soil, water, residue, debris or articles which are contaminated from tile cleanup of a site or <br />facility formerly nsed for the geaeration, storage, treatment, recycling, reclamation, or disposal of wastes <br />listed in this definition, including soil contaminated fi'om uaderground storage tanks used or formerly <br />used for the storage of petroleum products; <br /> <br /> P. any waste that requires other than normal handling, storage, management and/or disposaI, as <br />determiued by the Director; <br /> <br /> Q. dead animals and/or slaughterhouse waste, except for animals euthanized nnder the authority <br />and direction of the City; or <br /> <br /> R. any waste which because of its quantity, concentration, fi'equency of disposal, required disposal <br />procedures, mgulatory status, or physical, chemical infectious or other characteristics jeopardizes or may <br />jeopardize the environmentally sound operation of a disposal site, as determined by the Director. <br /> <br />1.2.27 Work - The ['urnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and other incidentals necessary for tile <br />successful completion of the Contract and the carryiug out of all duties and obligations imposed by this <br />Contract on the Contractor. <br /> <br />1.2.28 Yard Waste - Tree limbs, grass and plant clippings, and tree or brush trimmings that are bagged <br />or bundled for curbside yard waste collection. <br /> <br />Section 1.3 Solid Waste Collection <br /> <br />1.3.1 Residential Unit Solid Waste <br /> <br /> A. Tile Contractor will collect residential solid waste fi'om each residential unit iu tile coatract area <br />using either an automated or a semi automated collection system, two (2) times per week. The Contractor <br />will pick up ail resideutial solid waste (other than bulky waste, construction debris, stable matter, tree <br />trimmings and yard waste) placed for collection at tile curb on the designated collection day, whether <br />contained in the provided residential cart or not, aad regardless of the mode of collection utilized <br />(automated/semi-automated). The Contractor will furnish each residential unit with one new cart. The <br />size of the cart will be either 95 gallons, 68 gallons or 35 gallons (these capacities are approximate). <br />Initially the Contractor wilI provide each customer with a new 95-gallon cart. The Contractor will <br />provide costomers with new smaller carts upon request of the customer. The Contractor will not <br />substitute used carts during the term of this Contract for those originally provided to customers. If a <br />customer's cart is in need of replacement, however, the Contractor may replace the cart with a used cart if <br />the cart is in a condition acceptable to the Director. The cost for this service will be included in the cost <br />per month for basic residential service. <br /> <br /> B. Newly Annexed Areas: For resideutial units in portions of the contract area that have been newly <br />annexed to the City, the customers wilI have the choice of immediately switching to the Contractor, or <br />continuing to use solid waste collectiou coatractors other than the Contractor for a period of two (2) years <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
