~ Baker" Aicklen
~ & Associates, Inc.
Engineers/Surveyors
April 29, 1999 No. 99-4020R
Ms. Laurie Anderson, P .E.
CITY OF SAN MARCOS
Department of Environment and Engineering
630 E. Hopkins
San Marcos, Texas 78666
Re: Revised Proposal for Professional Services
Construction of Improvements for City's Cut
and Cap Program with SWTSU
Design, Bidding Assistance and Construction Phase Services
Dear Ms. Anderson:
Baker-Aicklen & Associates, Inc. is pJeased to submit our revised proposal to provide the
above-referenced services. It is submitted per our meeting on April 27, 1999.
Based on our draft report entitled "Coordination of [Surface] Water Supply, Southwest
Texas State University," dated February 9, 1999, we have identified and mapped
approximately twenty-three (23) cut and cap sites (see Table A), for segregating the
City's and SWT's water systems. Additionally, Table C of that report provides for
approximately thirty (30) locations of action/reaction items related to the water system
cut and cap program. As of this date, we understand the City has performed some cut
and cap, which would or may reduce the number of work locations for this project's
construction contract. Because the City wishes to complete all needed improvements for
this cut and cap program in a timely fashion, this proposal for services will accomplish
that goal.
The following is a more specific list of our proposed Basic Services, along with a
Clarification of Terms and Basis of Compensation.
SCOPE OF BASIC SERVICES
I. DESIGN PHASE
A. Prepare and provide construction plans for each cut and cap site, noted
in the previously-referenced draft report. Note: Maps and typical
details produced in this draft report are to be utilized in preparing
:~:
100 N. Edward 6afld St.. Ste. 116 . San Marcos. Texas 78666 . 512/392-6900 .
