MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, MAY 6, 2003 PRESENT: Mayor Mayor Pro-Tem Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Robert Habingreither Paul Mayhew Jacob Montoya Martha Castex Tatum Ed Mihalkanin Council Members Susan Narviaz Bill Taylor John Thomaides John A. Womack Mark Taylor Ross Allegro Also present: Joe Castillo, David Chiu, Sharon Chiu, Jane Hughson, Debbie Taylor, Melinda Habingreither, Marilee Mayhew, Harvey Miller, Rose Brooks, Kyev Tatum, Jacob Tatum, Becky Sierra, Rick Hernandez, Mike Narvaiz, Julie Thomaides, Bob Thornton, Bob Mooney, Todd Derkacz, Gloria Salazar, Mike Stanley, Phil Neighbors, Tom Taggart, Rodney Cobb, Carolyn Liner, Jan Clark, Stephanie Garcia, Bobette Bandy, Jeri-Ann Hoffman, Cindy Nankervis, Amelia Rios, Shelley Goodwin and others. Mayor Habingreither called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Habingreither lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Habingreither introduced canvassing the returns of the General Election held on May 3, 2003. The Council reviewed the returns. Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 3, 2003 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 5, AND A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 6; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mr. Mayhew moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Ms. Tatum seconded the motion. Ms. Tatum moved to amend Section 3 to complete the blanks with the names of John A. Diaz as the elected City Council Member, Outgoing Council Members-Paul Mayhew and Martha Castex-Tatum.
