Ms. Narvaiz withdrew her motion and Mr. Taylor withdrew his second. Mayor Habingreither stated he feels the Planning and Zoning Commissioners need a Planning and Zoning history. He feels it is important to have members up to speed. Ms. Narvaiz stated she feels the Planning and Zoning members are obligated to get training and be up to speed. Ms. Narvaiz moved to delete alternate positions and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Narvaiz, Thomaides, Mihalkanin, Montoya and Diaz. NAY: Habingreither and Taylor. ABSAIN: None. On roll call for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Narvaiz, Thomaides, Mihalkanin, Montoya and Diaz. NAY: Habingreither and Taylor. ABSTAIN: None. Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration Item 19 removed from the consent agenda, adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF THE 500 BLOCK OF NORTH FREDERICKSBURG STREET; APPROVING THE CONVEYANCE OF THIS TRACT TO SOUTHWEST TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY AND AMERICAN CAMPUS (SWT II) LTD.; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Narvaiz moved to table the Ordinance to the next Regular Meeting to be held on May 28, 2003, and Mr. Taylor seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Narvaiz, Thomaides, Montoya, Taylor and Diaz. NAY: None.
