If the officer is unable to complete an investiaation within that time. the officer shall <br /> notify the complainant and the respondent in writina of the reasons for the delay. <br /> (b) In connection with an the investigation, the fair housing officer may question and <br /> take and record testimony and statements of all persons who appear, and may examine, <br /> record and copy information documents which is are produced, <br /> (c) During or after the investigation, the fair housing officer shall, if it appears that <br /> a discriminator;' housing practice has occurred or is about to occur, attempt to effect <br /> voluntary conciliation discontinuance or rectification of the discriminatory housing practice <br /> and assurance of future voluntary compliance with this article. if it appears that a <br /> discriminatory housina practice has occurred or is about to occur. <br /> (d) If the state or federal aovemment has referred a complaint to the city. the fair <br /> housina officer shall promptly investiaate the alleaations set forth in the complaint. <br /> Section 46.055. Additional or substitute respondent. <br /> (a) The fair housina officer may join a person not named in a complaint as an <br /> additional or substitute respondent if in the course of the investiaation the officer <br /> determines that the person is the proper subject of the investigation. <br /> 5 <br />
