Regular Meeting April 17, 2007 Page 7 <br />Mayor Narvaiz stated she was moving Item #35, discussion. Mayor Narvaiz <br />introduced a discussion and receive a presentation regarding Lions Club <br />tube rental operations and directions to Staff. Cody Dailey, President of <br />Lions Club provided a presentation of all the services provided to the <br />community. He stated these funds are from the profits of tube rental. <br />Mayor Narvaiz thanked the Lions Club for all they do for the community. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 15, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF EIGHT FULL SIZE CROWN VICTORIA PURSUIT <br />VEHICLES FROM SAM PACK'S FIVE STAR FORD FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />THROUGH THE TEXAS BUILDING AND PROCUREMENT COMMISSION; AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Bose moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Bose inquired to whether there was any research done to <br />lower the cost of fuel and to look at bio fuel. Mr. Williams stated he is <br />not sure to the studies that were conducted. He stated the bio fuel <br />concept is diesel and E85 is a compatible vehicle, but the Crown Victoria <br />does not come that way. He also stated the Chevy Impala does come that <br />way, but there is no room for a transport cage and a back seat passenger. <br />He stated patrol vehicles have limited options, but next year there should <br />be more options. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Resolution. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 16, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A PURSUIT SEDAN AND TWO PICKUP TRUCKS FROM <br />WINDHAM MOTOR CO., L.P. FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE TEXAS <br />BUILDING AND PROCUREMENT COMMISSION; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Ms. Couch seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Bose inquired to the Chevy pursuit sedan. Mr. Williams <br />stated this vehicle is a replacement and will be used for administrative <br />use and if the need arises it will be used for pursuit. He stated this <br />vehicle will be a unmarked and prisoners will not be able to transported in <br />this vehicle unless they lay down in the back seat. The Council then voted <br />
