Stabilize temperature and humidity in disaster areas. <br /> <br /> <br />7. Prepare damage location inventories. <br /> <br />_8. Make treatment decisions as appropriately as possible. <br /> <br />_9. Arrange for temporary cold storage if water damage is present. <br /> <br />_10. Establish the necessary workrooms for records treatment. <br /> <br />_11 . Assign removal priorities from disaster areas. <br /> <br />_12. Organize volunteers who will be helping with recovery operations. <br /> <br />B. REMOVAL OF RECORDS <br /> <br /> <br />1. .Pack damaged records. <br /> <br /> <br />a. Pack wet articles in plastic milk crates (if available). <br /> <br /> <br />b. Wrap records to be frozen in wax paper. <br /> <br /> <br />c. Have a fire extinguisher ready when opening file drawers. <br /> <br /> <br />d. Immerse wet microfilm in fresh, cool water. <br /> <br /> <br />_2. Remove damaged records. <br /> <br /> <br />a.
