The CITY and ENGINEER agree to amend Section 1.4 of the Agreement to read <br /> as follows: <br /> 1.4 BASIC SERVICES PHASE 3 - CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES <br />F ~ <br />! The ENGINEER will: <br /> 1.4.1 Assist in conducting pre-construction conferences with the Contractor(s), and in <br /> reviewing construction schedules prepared by the Contractor(s). <br /> 1.4.2 Make one visit each month to the Project sites (as distinguished from the continuous <br /> services of the CITY's Resident Project Representative) until substantial completion to <br /> observe the progress and the quality of work. These site visits will include the Plant, all <br /> transmission mains, and the elevated storage tank. The ENGINEER will become familiar <br /> with the progress and quality of the work competed and will determine in general if the <br /> work, when completed will be in accordance with contract documents. In addition, on the <br /> basis of on-site observations as an ENGINEER, the ENGINEER will keep the CITY <br /> informed of the progress and quality of the work, and will exercise reasònable care and due <br /> diligence in discovering and promptly reporting to the CITY any defects or deficiencies in <br /> the work. The CITY's approval, acceptance of or payment for all or any part of the <br /> ENGINEER's services under this agreement will in no way alter the ENGINEER's <br /> obligations or the CITY's rights. <br /> 1.4.3 Attend a partnering workshop for the construction phase if required by the CITY. <br /> 1.4.4 Consult with and advise the CITY during construction and make recommendations <br /> to the CITY regarding materials and workmanship.and proposed change and field orders. <br /> 1.4.5 Review samples, catalog data, schedules, shop drawings, laboratory, shop and mill <br /> test of material and equipment and other data pursuant to the general conditions of the <br /> construction contracts. <br /> 1.4.6 Interpret the intent of the plans and specifications for the CITY, the PROGRAM <br /> MANAGER and the Contractor(s). Studies conducted by the ENGINEER and 'plans and <br /> specifications prepared by the ENGINEER will be promptly redone without additional <br /> compensation to the ENGINEER if determined to by the CITY to be inadequate, defective <br /> or incomplete. <br /> 1.4.7 Conduct a final inspection of each Project in cooperation with CITY's representative <br /> and PROGRAM MANAGER for conformance with the design concept of the Project and <br /> 4 <br />
