The <br /> compensation of the judges shall be fixed by the city council. <br /> ,--- <br /> ¡ (c) The presiding judge city manager shall appoint a municipal court clerk and <br /> any assistants the judge manager deems advisable. The compensation of the <br /> municipal court clerk and assistants shall be fixed by the city manager. <br /> (d) The presiding judge shall cooperate with the city manager in the financial <br /> administration of the municipal court. <br /> The change tò subsection (b) adds a threshold of qualifications to the presiding and <br /> associate judge positions. <br /> The changes to subsection (c) recognize the fact that supervision of the Municipal Court <br /> clerk is performed primarily by the presiding judge rather than the finance director or city <br /> manager. The effective performance of this supervisory role is naturally tied to the <br /> authority to appoint the court clerk. Because of the significant revenûe production function <br /> and cash handling responsibilities of the court, subsection (d) is added to ensure <br /> coordination between the presiding judge and city manager in financial aspects of the <br /> court. <br /> 7. Amend Sections 6.05 and 6.06 as follows: <br /> Sec. 6.05. Council consideration submission to voters. <br /> (a) When the council receives an authorized initiative petition certified by the city <br /> secretary to be sufficient, the council, within 30 days after the date of th~ <br /> certification, shall either: <br /> (1ft) Pass the initiated ordinance without amendment within thirty (30) days <br /> <br /> after the date of the certification to the council; or <br /> (2b) Submit said Call an election on the adoption of the initiated ordinance <br /> <br /> without amendments, to a vote of the qualified voter3 of the city at a <br /> regular or special clcction to be held on the next uniform date ftffi <br /> authorized by state law for municipal elections which is at least 45 <br /> thirty (30) days after the date on which the council acts~. <br /> tel <br /> At the St:!clT election, the council may submit to a 'Jote of the qualified voters of the <br />
