A second vote was taken to determine the third <br />voting member. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />Porterfield: Narvaiz, Habingreither, Taylor and Diaz. <br /> <br />wilson: None. <br /> <br />Moss: <br /> <br />Thomaides, Mihalkanin and Montoya. <br /> <br />Lee Porterfield will serve as a voting member and the vacant alternate <br />appointment will be rescheduled for the next Regular Meeting on July 23, <br />2003. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced seven appointments to the Charter Review <br />Commission. Ms. Narvaiz moved to appoint Lydia Marie Trevino, Mr. <br />Thomaides moved to appoint Camille Phillips, Mr. Taylor moved to appoint <br />Ernie Murray and Mr. Diaz moved to appoint Wendy Griffith, which passed <br />unanimously. The remaining appointments will be rescheduled for the next <br />Regular Meeting on July 23, 2003. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration three appointments to the <br />Economic Development Council. Mr. Taylor moved to reappoint Ed Mihalkanin <br />as the Council representative, and Mr. Mihalkanin moved to reappoint Wayne <br />Becak as a Citizen representative. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Narvaiz, Thomaides, Mihalkanin (on Becak), Habingreither, <br />Montoya, Taylor and Diaz. <br /> <br />NAY: None. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Mihalkanin (on himself). <br /> <br />The remaining appointment will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration confirmation of <br />appointment by City Manager of Police Chief. Mr. O'Leary stated he <br />recommended Howard williams for the Police Chief position. Mr. Montoya <br />moved for approval of the appointment of Mr. Williams and Mr. Mihalkanin <br />seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary thanked Sheriff Montague for his <br />presence at the Council Meeting tonight to show his support for the <br />confirmation of the appointment of Police Chief Howard Williams.
