Wood Dara Wells <br /> City of San Marcos and City of San Marcos . <br /> Parks and Recreation Parks and Recreation <br /> River Stewardship Project Recreation Manager <br /> Description of the ProposecLProiect: <br /> The City of San Marcos is proposing the con~truction and development of an <br /> interpretive trail and educational series along the San Marcos River. Permanent <br /> interpretive media will be placed at multiple stations along the river and provide <br /> individuals with information on local habitat, wildlife and endangered species. This <br /> project will also provide seminars on various ecological topics and develop educational <br /> materials associated with the San Marcos River for use with local schools, community <br /> service groups and youth projects. The Nature Trail System will utilize the existing trail <br /> system and wildlife areas currently managed by the City of San Marcos and Texas <br /> Parks and Wildlife. The nature trail system is being developed in conjunction with the <br /> installation of a new interpretative center in the Wildlife I habitat area and the San <br /> Marcos River habitat conservation plan.
