Approximately $5,000 <br /> will be ,spent in each of the following neighborhoods: Wallace, <br /> Sunset Acres, Victory Gardens, Dunbar, East Guadalupe, Rio <br /> Vista Terrace, Blanco Gardens and Westover. - The money will be <br /> used to buy construction materials that'will be installed by <br /> city crews. <br /> , <br /> PRIORITY #2: Downtown Sidewalk Proiect Phase II <br /> COST: $210,000 REL-'\ TED SERVICE AREA: Add improvements for <br /> National Register Historic District. . <br /> DESCRIPTIO~: <br /> Phase II of this project will be for the construction of sidewalk <br /> improvements (including handicapped accessibility improvement) <br /> for the LBJ Street side of the Courthouse Square. The funds <br /> will pay for design and reconstruction of this one block area. <br /> The improvements will aid Historic Preservation efforts and <br /> facilitate job creation in the downtown area which is in close <br /> proximity to several low income areas. <br /> PRIORITY #3: Housinq Rehabilitation Assistance Proqram <br /> COST: $ 80,000 RELATED SERVICE AREA: Qualified Low-Income <br /> Neighborhoods <br /> DESCRIPTION: <br /> This request will provide incentives for housing rehabilitation <br /> in targeted neighborhoods. Qualified low-income persons <br /> would be able to make minor housing improvments and be reimbursed <br /> for up to 50% of the cost of the improvement, up to a, maximum <br /> of $2,500 (or a total improvement cost of $5,000). The city <br /> will work with local banks through the Community Reinvestment <br /> Act to qualify applicants. <br />
