Dept. of HUD Special Tab <br /> Tapes shows that these three Census tracts average 72,33% Low/Moderate <br /> Income. <br /> Additionally, Hays Nursing Center on Medical Parkway houses 115 persons, <br /> . Arboretum of San Marcos houses 86 persons, and Camlu Retirement ~enter <br /> houses 86 persons who would all benefit from the quick response truck staffed <br /> by Firefighters with EMT certification. Medic 1 and Medic 2 are located some <br /> distance from these facilities and this vehicle would be able to provide first <br /> responder service to life threatening situations until they arrive. <br /> ~ <br /> Several densely populated neighborhoods with L/M residents are within Station <br /> #4's service area. They include Sunset Acres, C.D. Wallace Addition, Victory <br /> Gardens, ~lIis Addition, Barbara Dr. Neighborhood, San Marcos Mobile Home <br /> Park, CM Allen Homes, and the Weatherford Addition. Service is also provided <br /> , . to many heavily populated institutions in this district. They include the Hays <br /> County Law Enforcement Center Gail) and Juvenile Detention Center, the <br /> Women's Shelter, The Youth Shelter, Owen Goodnight Jr. High School, De <br /> Zavala Elementary, San Marcos High School, and Bowie Elementary School. <br /> . <br /> This district also provides service to the majority of the industrial businesses <br /> along IH-35, the Factory Outlet Mall and Tanger Mall who report having <br /> 4,000,000 persons visit their facilities just last year as well as the industries and <br /> visitors to the San Marcos Airport. <br /> Proposed projects and those underway include a Senior Citizen Retirement <br /> Community to be located adjacent to the Broadway Station #4 and a new <br /> nursing home and some 300 residential units especially servicing the deaf. <br /> : <br /> Finally, Station #4 services IH-35 which has been designated as the main <br /> corridor between Dallas and San Antonio as well as the NAFT A Highway. The <br /> Texas DepL of Transportation reports traffic counts for 1994 for the City Limits of <br /> San Marcos portion of IH-35 at an average of 55,200 vehicles per day, <br />
