Financial Considerations. and Schedules <br /> <br />1.1.6 ENGINEER's opinions of probable Project costs and of Project schedules will be made <br />on the basis of experience and qualifications as a professional engineer. ENGINEER does not <br />guarantee that proposal, bids, or actual Project costs will not vary from ENGINEER's cost <br />estimates or that actual schedules will not vary from ENGINEER's projected schedules. <br />I <br /> <br />¡ 1.1.7 The ENGINEER will give prompt written Notice to the CITY whenever the ENGINEER <br />observes or becomes aware of any development that affects the scope or timing of the <br />ENGINEER's services or of any defect in the work of the ENGINEER or construction contractors. <br /> <br />1.2 BASIC SERVICES - PRELIMINARY DESIGN <br /> <br />~ . <br />The ENGINEER will perform all of the Basic Services described in this Section 1.2, which include <br />normal, structural, mechanical, civil. and electrical engineering services as well as architectural <br />services for the Project, which consists generally of a raw water intake structure and pump station <br />located on the San Marcos River; raw water pipeline; 6 MGD water treatment plant, cfearwell, <br />high service pump station; and treated water transmission pipeline. <br /> <br />1.2.1 Consult with CITY and the Project Manager: (1) to review the scop~ of work, (2) to verify <br />the CITY's requirements for the Project, and (3) to review available data. <br /> <br />1.2.2 Advise CITY as to the necessity of CITY's providing or obtaining data or services from <br />others, and assist the CITY in connection with any such services. <br /> <br />Project Management <br /> <br />1.2.3 Provide overall supervision of the Project necessary to complete the appropriate tasks <br />I within schedule and budget. Prepare a flow chart showing key milestones. The flow chart will <br />be updated monthly and forwarded to the CITY. <br /> <br />Meetings <br /> <br />1.2.4 Attend up to six monthly progress meetings to be held in San Marcos and prepare a <br />monthly written progress report. Also, attend up to two separate public meetings and/or meetings <br />with regulatory agencies in San Marcos or Austin concerning the Project. <br /> <br />Review HDR October 1994 Surface Water Supply Study <br /> <br />1.2.5 Review and make an overview evaluation of the assumptions, conclusions, <br />implementation schedule, and opinions of cost presented in the CITY's October 1994 Surface <br />Water Supply Study by HDR Engineering Inc. The validity and/or appropriateness of the water <br />rights options presented in the study will not be evaluated other than commenting on the facilities <br />proposed and opinions of cost for each water rights plan.
