The project will focus on providing basic outdoor skills and natural <br /> history education to its participants in an outdoor s~tting. Topics covered during the program <br /> will include camping, hiking, fishing, orienteering, repelling, plant identification, birding, <br /> canoeing and the mammals of Texas. Participants will receive four hours of classroom education <br /> on the topics to be covered and then apply the learned subjects at a selected state park. The <br /> Outdoor Adventures Program will provide six weekend trips and one day trip to ,seven State <br /> Parks. The 1997 program has selected Bastrop State Park, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, <br /> Guadalupe River State Park, Perdernales Falls State Park, Lost Maples State Natural Area and <br /> Hill Country State Natural Area as the destinations for six weekend trips.
