) J.,¡I
-
Project Action Plan
The San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department proposes to offer six weekend trips
and one day trip through the "Outdoor Adventure" program. Included in the action plan are
outlines for the overall project, a weekly outline, and a day trip outline. The project overview
details the educational topics which will be specific to each trip. Each topic has been chosen to
best suit the surroundings of each State Park.
The weekend trips will include two educational sessions on Monday and Wednesday,
each lasting two hours. There will be a one hour final review on the Friday afternoon. The
weekend trips will leave on Friday and return on Sunday. Monday sessions. will include a basic
introduction of everyone participating in the trip and the location we will be visiting. The Parks
and Recreation Department will use these education sessions to give the participants some basic
camping skills as well as prepare them for the activities for the weekend ahead.
The weekly action plan outlines all of the days included in the trip. This ranges from the
education sessions until the time we arrive home. Both educational and recreational elements
have been included in this outline.
The day trip outline is designed for the mentally and/or physically challenged
participants. 'rVe will include the same educational and recreational elements in these trips, just in
a shorter time span.
