The request must be in <br /> writing, and the current standards of the American National Standards Institute <br /> or the American Water Works Association will apply to the test. If the test result <br /> is outside the standards, the meter test fee will be refunded, the city will pay all <br /> testing costs, and the test results will be used to make an adjustment in the <br /> customer's account. The adjustment will be for a period of either the 6 months <br /> preceding the request, or the period of time the account has been in the <br /> customer's name, whichever is shorter. <br /> SECTION 5. That Section 30-42 and 30-62 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances <br /> are respectively amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 30-42. Payment of sewer system impact fees. <br /> (a) The owner of a building, premises or lot must pay a sewer system <br /> impact fee set by separate ordinance before connecting the building, premises <br /> or lot to any sewer system which utilizes the city sewer collection system or <br /> treatment plant. <br /> (b) This fee does not apply to any local taxing unit as defined in the Texas <br /> Tax Code, or to any building in existence on March 8, 1984 that was served by <br /> a private septic system at that time. <br /> Sec. 30-62. Payment of water system impact fees. <br /> (a) The owner of a building, lot or premises must pay a water system <br /> impact fee set by separate ordinance. before connecting the building, premises <br /> or lot to any water system which utilizes the city water distribution system. <br /> (b) This fee does not apply to any local taxing unit as defined in the Texas <br /> Tax Code, or to any building in existence on May 26, 1988 that was served by <br /> a private water well at that time. <br /> SECTION 6. The following fees are established: <br /> City Code Section Description Amount <br /> 30-1 (a) Water tap fee $250, or cost of installation plus <br /> 10%, whichever is greater <br /> 30-1 (c) Water meter fee $50, or cost of meter and <br /> installation plus 10%, whichever is <br /> greater <br /> 30-2(a) Sewer tap fee $250, or cost of installation plus <br /> 10%, whichever is greater <br /> 30-18(c) Water/sewer deposit $60.00 for individually metered <br /> residential units; for all other uses, ¡ <br /> $60.00 or 2 times the estimated ! <br /> ! <br /> average monthly bill, whichever is <br /> greater. <br /> Note: In estimating average monthly bills, the square footage, previous consumption and <br /> billing at the service address, type of use, comparison to existing similar uses, and meter <br /> size will be used as factors. <br />
