<br /> 69 <br /> RESOLUTION 1995- 57 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING <br /> JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN A <br /> JOINT GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION BY THE <br /> CITY, TO BE HELD ON MAY 6, 1995; CHARGING THE <br /> JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN <br /> THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH <br /> RESPECTIVE PRECINCT; APPOINTING AN EARLY <br /> VOTING BALLOT BOARD; APPOINTING A PRESIDING <br /> --,-- JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A <br /> TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br /> STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION <br /> MANAGER; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE <br /> PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br /> STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE <br /> APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF <br /> CERTAIN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT <br /> BY THE EARLY VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY <br /> EARLY VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. On February 13, 1995 the City Council of the City of San <br /> Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint <br /> general and special election by the City and the San Marcos Independent <br /> Consolidated School District on May 6, 1995, establishing the rate of <br /> compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the <br /> tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making <br /> provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br /> incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency. <br /> 2. Section 4 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of <br /> the City shall by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and <br /> alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling places for <br /> the respective precincts set forth. in Section 3 thereof, and that <br /> ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge's duty to hold <br /> the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurring after <br /> the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent <br /> resolution{s) of the City Council. <br /> 3. Section 15 of that ordinance provides that the City Council <br /> of the City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint the Early Voting <br /> Ballot Board, a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a <br /> Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and'a Central <br /> Counting Station Manager. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCII; OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1.
