<br /> ,1-ß <br /> -3- <br /> 1.4. PHASE 4 - FINAL DESIGN AND DOCUMENT PREPARATION <br /> The ENGINEER will: <br /> 1.4.1. Based on the CITY's approval of the scope of work and the <br /> preliminary design documents, prepare, for review and <br /> approval by the CITY, final construction documents suitable <br /> for bidding and subsequent construction. Any change to the <br /> route that necessitates redesign after the Final Design Phase <br /> has begun will be considered an additional service under <br /> Section 1.7. <br /> ~- 1.4.2. Produce the following: <br /> (a) construction drawings; and <br /> (b) Project manual. The Project Manual will include the bid <br /> sheet; technical specifications and other pertinent <br /> ~~cuments required for this Project. <br /> 1.4.3 Construction Contract Documents Preparation <br /> <br /> Based on the approved final design documents and any further <br /> adjustments authorized by the CITY in the scope, quality or budget of <br /> the Project, the ENGINEER will prepare construction contract documents <br /> using forms supplied by the CITY. These contract documents will <br /> include detailed plans and specifications required fG)r the respective <br /> phase of the Project to be accurately bid and efficiently constructed. <br /> The ENGINEER will use its best professional judgment to create <br /> documents that comply with all applicable construction and development <br /> codes, local regulations and ordinances and other federal and state <br /> regulations which are known or which should reasonably be known to the <br /> ENGINEER. <br /> The ENGINEER will assist the CITY with its preparation and <br /> submission of an application to the Texas Department of Transportation <br /> ("TxDOT") for a utility permit for construction in TxDOT right of way. <br /> The ENGINEER will conduct a review meeting with the CITY prior to <br /> completion of the construction contract documents for the Project. <br /> The ENGINEER will prepare a final and detailed construction cost <br /> estimate for the Project and present it along with the contract <br /> documents to the CITY for review and approval. <br /> 1.5. PHASE 5 - BIDDING <br /> For the construction phase of the Project, the ENGINEER will, <br /> following the CITY's approval of the construction contract documents <br /> and of the latest detailed cost estimates for the Project, assist the <br /> City in obtaining bids, tabulating bids, and awarding the contract for <br /> construction; will be re,spons ibl e for having bid documents printed and <br /> bound in a number to be determined by consultation with the CITY's <br /> representative, the distribution of the bid documents to prospective <br /> bidders and to plan rooms, and the issuance of addenda (if any) <br /> following CITY's prior approval; will assist the CITY in reviewing <br /> the Statements of Bidder's Qualifications, financial statements of <br />
