Regular Meeting May 15, 2007 Page 3 <br />stated she feels it will be a great advantage for all social services to be <br />found in one location. 17) Ms. Robertson encouraged the citizens to attend <br />the Texas Natural Swing events on May 19, 2007. 18) Mr. Jones thanked the <br />citizens who voted on May 12, 2007. 19) Mr. Jones welcomed the Board of <br />Regents with the Texas State University System. 20) Mayor Narvaiz stated she <br />provided a copy of all the events she attended during the weeks of May 2 to <br />May 15, 2007. 21) Mayor Narvaiz thanked Dan and Brenda O'Leary for taking in <br />an exchange student, Nina. She stated they had to put Nina on a plane today <br />and she will be missed. 22) Mayor Narvaiz thanked the San Marcos Education <br />Foundation for their hard work. She stated she read 28 grant applications, <br />and it was difficult to rank some when all ideas are good. 23) Mayor <br />Narvaiz thanked Time Warner for sponsoring the Chamber Casino Night, which <br />is Friday, May 18, 2007. 24) Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended the Airport <br />Commission and she thanked the commissioners for their hard work. 25) Mayor <br />Narvaiz stated only 9.30 of the registered voters voted on the Hays County <br />and SMCISD Election. She stated this was not enough voter turn out. 26) <br />Mayor Narvaiz stated she met with Hays County Mayors to find a balance and <br />work on common goals. The Mayors, County Judge, Commissioners Ingalsbe and <br />Barton have a meeting with TxDOT regarding the road issues. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held May 1, 2007, adoption of two Ordinances on third and <br />final reading and adoption of eight Resolutions, and approval of Change <br />Order #3 in the amount of $69,619.00 related to the Post road Paving and <br />Drainage Improvements and Sink Creek Interceptor Project with Texas Sterling <br />Construction L.P, on consent. The Council pulled Items 18 and 20, adoption <br />of Resolutions to be considered separately. Mr. Jones moved for approval of <br />minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 1, 2007, adoption two Ordinances on <br />third and final reading, adoption of the remaining six Resolutions, and <br />approval of Change Order #3 in the amount of $69,619.00 related to the Post <br />road Paving and Drainage Improvements and Sink Creek Interceptor Project <br />with Texas Sterling Construction L.P., on consent, and Mr. Bose seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. The captions of the Ordinance and <br />Resolutions read as follows: <br />Adoption of Ordinances on third and final reading: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ADOPTING A REVISED SECTOR ONE, TWO AND THREE PLAN; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />CHANGING THE NAME OF WATER TOWER STREET, FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH <br />SPLIT RAIL DRIVE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH SILO STREET, TO FENCE LINE <br />DRIVE; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br />Adoption of Resolutions: <br />
