She encouraged the Council to keep in mind there is going to be
a nice pathway through the park, and the sidewalk will be an extension.
Aesthetic Mayor Narvaiz inquired to the aesthetic of the bridges in Kyle.
Mr. Avila stated the bridges in Kyle have color, end caps and ornamental
railing. Ms. Robertson stated she feels this will make a difference
for the parkland. Mayor Narvaiz stated she feels this needs to be nice.
Mr. Guerrero stated he would like to see this bridge be pleasing to look at
like the bridges around the trails on Town Lake in Austin. Mayor Narvaiz
stated she would like to see this issue come back to Council with options
and cost, which the Council agreed by consensus. Mr. Thomaides stated he
feels since there are people in the park, then something should be done in
the middle of the extremes.
Mayor Narvaiz introduced for discussion and direction to Staff regarding
setting the following A) Workshop for Economic Development discussion
with San Marcos Industrial Corporation and Economic Development Board on
June 22, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. at the Activity Center.
