<br />RESOLUTION 1995-144R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A LIST OF THE CITY'S PROJECT <br />PRIORITIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT <br />OF TRANSPORTATION'S 1996-98 RURAL TRANSPORTATION <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE AUSTIN DISTRICT; <br />APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE <br />TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The Texas Department of Transportation ("TXDOT") receives federal <br />assistance under the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act ("ISTEA"). <br /> <br /> <br />2. TXDOT has developed a 1996-98 Rural Transportation Improvement <br />Program for the Austin District which outlines the federally funded projects tentatively <br />scheduled for construction between October 1, 1995 and September 30, 1998. <br />. <br /> <br />3. One of the ISTEA requirements is that TXDOT provide affected public <br />agencies with the opportunity to comment on the proposed Transportation Improvement <br />Program ("TIP"). <br /> <br />4. The City of San Marcos wishes to provide TXDOT with a list of projects that <br />it has determined will be most beneficial to the welfare of the San Marcos community. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City Council approves the following list of projects as its project <br />priorities in conjunction with TXDOT's 1996-98 Rural Transportation Improvement Program <br />for the Austin District, ranked in order of importance. <br /> <br />1 st: Railroad Overpass/Correction of At-grade Rail-Traffic Conflicts <br />2nd: Highway 123/FM621 Intersection Realignment <br />3rd: Centerpoint Overpass Widening <br />4th: Hunter Road Widening to Five Lane <br /> <br />PART 2. That the submission of this resolution to the Texas Department of <br />Transportation is approved. <br /> <br />PART 3. That this Resolution is in full force and effect immediately upon its <br />passage. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 24day of <br /> <br />July <br /> <br />,1995. <br /> <br /> <br />Robert T.
