The Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />proposed revisions to Article II, Section B and Article V, Section B of the City Subdivision <br />Ordinance, and has recommended that the revisions be adopted by the City Council. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Article II, Section B of the City Subdivision Ordinance, Appendix <br />C to the San Marcos Code of Ordinances, is amended to add a definition numbered 37.1 <br />. <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />37.1 Plat. minor: A one-step platting process for subdivisions that do not <br />require new public streets or public utilities, or other major infrastructure <br />improvements. Review procedures for minor plats are in Article V, <br />Section B of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 2, That Article V, Section B of the City Subdivision Ordinance, <br />Appendix C to the San Marcos Code of Ordinances, is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section B. Minor Plats, <br /> <br />1. A minor plat procedure may be followed for the approval of a subdivision <br />if the land proposed to be subdivided meets the following requirements: <br /> <br />a. All lots in the proposed subdivision or resubdivision front onto an <br />existing public street and the construction of new streets or alleys is <br />not required to meet the requirements of this ordinance; <br /> <br />b. Public utilities, as required by this ordinance, are in place and <br />adequate to serve each lot of the subdivision or resubdivision, or the <br />installation of utilities is considered a minor extension of existing <br />facilities by the director of public works; and, <br /> <br />c. No additional drainage facilities, other than on-site storm water <br />detention facilities designed to serve individual lots, will be <br />constructed to meet the requirements of this ordinance. <br /> <br />2. Administrative approval authority for certain minor plats: <br /> <br />'. a, Minor plats containing four or fewer lots and requiring no extensions <br />\ <br />of municipal facilities may be administratively approved by the <br />planning director without the consideration of the commission if the <br />plat meets all applicable requirements of this ordinance, <br /> <br />b. The planning director may, for any reason, elect to present the plat <br />to the commission for its consideration and action, <br /> <br />c. The planning director shall not disapprove a plat submitted under <br />
