<br /> -' '. <br /> 50 <br /> Grant Number 93-12-11 <br /> Date Approved 10-01-93 <br /> Amount 52,500 <br /> Period 9-30-96 <br /> <br /> Small Business Administration National Tree Planting Program <br /> A Cooperative Program Between the U.S. Small Business <br /> Administration and the Texas Forest Service <br /> GRANT AGREEMENT <br /> This Grant Agreement is hereby entered into on this 1st day <br /> of October, 1993, by and between the Texas Forest Service (TFS), <br /> a part of The Texas A&M University System, and the City of San <br /> Marcos, hereafter referred to as "Grantee. " <br /> Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to assist the Grantee in <br /> the planting of 4, four inch Live Oak trees in the historic <br /> downtown area of San Marcos. Trees will be watered by a tree <br /> irrigation system and maintained by city personnel for three <br /> years under this agreement. <br /> Article 1. The grant will be paid on a reimbursement basis up to <br /> $2,500, upon submission of approved cost records. .The Grantee <br /> will be responsible for a match of not less than $2,500, of which <br /> $2,500 will be in cash. <br /> Article 2. All landscape and shade tree planting included,in <br /> this grant must be completed by April 30, 1994, anq palm tree <br /> plantings must be completed by September 30, 1994. These trees <br /> must be planted on lands owned or controlled by local or state <br /> governments. <br /> Article 3. The Grantee will not let contracts associated with <br /> this agreement to firms with more than 100 employees. All funds <br /> provided by this grant must be used for payments to small <br /> businesses for trees, planting services, and other materials and <br /> services relating to the establishment and maintenance of trees <br /> planted through this grant. <br /> Article 4. The Grantee is responsible for maintaining all trees <br /> planted through this grant, as detailed in the attached Tree <br /> Planting and Maintenance Agreement. The Grantee must replace <br /> dead trees within the period of this agreement if the number of <br /> live trees falls below 90% of the original number planted and <br /> stated in the Purpose of this agreement. <br /> Article 5. The Grantee must provide the TFS with a resolution or <br /> letter from the respective governing body authorizing its <br /> representative to execute agreements associated with this grant <br /> and committing that organization to its share of the cost of the <br /> project as proposed in the grant application. <br />
