5$ffS Accepted by: -'.. 5.0 Inventorv (Circulation Maintenance) The inventory control software: - 5.1- a!!ows library staff to take inventory of la~lled library materials at multiple locations and for multiple parts of the library at the same time. - 5.2- reads labels for items inventoried using: - Telxon portable terminals for appropriate barcode fonts, or I - regular Dynix terminals I I - - 5.3- records on appropriate item records the date each item was inventoried. 5.4- provides printed reports of items misshelved for each batch of barcodes processed. - 5.5- upon completion of any collection S<:)ts status for items "missing from inventory" and a!!ows printed - report of these items. 5.6- makc:s allowance for items on loan, in processing and other status that do not qualify as "missing" - ltèms. 5.7- reports and a!!ows simple resolution of items found on the shelf which had incorrect status (ie., - checkout, missing. etc.) . Accepted by: 6.0 Bibliographic lntertàce Software (Interfaces) - The lntertàce: 6.1- on demand, transfers MARC II communications format bibliographic records from the source - computer to the DYNIX cpo. 6.2- automatically reformats and stores the source record on Dynix without further operator intervention. I - I I 6.3- a!!ows the Library to specify record "match point" definitions and indicate whether match points will - overlay existing or create new records and report match for possible merging. 6.4- allows updates of a bibliographic record and does not lose linking to any holdings records attached. - 6.5. allows copy-sp.:cific information (barcode number, item typè, material type, ca!! number, etc.) to be - input into designated tie1ds on the source record. 6.6- automatically creates holdings records based on the copy-specific information properly input into the - source record.
