<br /> I 7tf8 <br /> Section 11. Notice of Election. <br /> (a) Notice of said election shall be given by (i) posting substantial copies of this ordinance in <br /> both English and Spanish at the City Hall and at three (3) other places in said City and (ii) publishing <br /> substantial copies of this ordinance in both English and Spanish on the same day in each of two (2) <br /> successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in said City, the date of the first publication to be <br /> not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date set for said election. <br /> (b) A substantial copy of this Ordinance in both English and Spanish shalt serve as public <br /> notice of branch voting schedule and shall be posted continuously for a period beginning not later than the <br /> fifth day before the first day of the period for early voting by personal appearance and ending on the last <br /> day of such period, on the bulletin board used for posting notice of meetings of the City Council of the <br /> City. <br /> Section 12. Public Meeting. <br /> It is officially found, determined, and declared that the meeting at which this Ordinance has been <br /> adopted was open to the public and public notice of the time, place and subject matter of the public <br /> business to be considered and acted upon at said meeting, including this Ordinance was given, all as <br /> required by the applicable provisions of Tex. Gov't Code Ann. ch. 551. <br /> Section 13. Emergency Declaration. <br /> The public importance of this measure and the fact that it is to the interest of the City and its <br /> inhabitants to provide funds for the purposes herein contemplated at the earliest possible date for the <br /> immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety constitutes and creates an emergency and an <br /> imperative public necessity, requiring that this Ordinance take effect and be in full force immediately upon <br /> its passage; all ordinance and/or Charter rules requiring ordinances to be read on three (3) several days <br /> and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its <br /> final passage are hereby dispensed with for the purpose of adopting this Ordinance as an emergency <br /> ordinance; and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from and after its final passage <br /> as provided by the Charter of said City. <br /> , <br /> [Execution Page Follows] <br /> SANMA1lIBND ELBC,!><' DOCS:HBBP -3- <br />
