45. <br />Regular Meeting August 25, 2003 Page 11 <br /> <br />would like the Council Meetings to move more expediently, Mr. Mihalkanin <br />stated he would be happy to discuss the Council Meeting procedures. Mayor <br />Habingreither stated he feels the Council strays from the issues. Mr, <br />Mihalkanin stated he also feels straying from the issues confuses the <br />direction the Council is giving. He suggested scheduling a Workshop <br />before a Regular City Council Meeting at 6:00 p,m. The Council agreed by <br />consensus to hold a Workshop before a Council Meeting and to set the date <br />at a later time. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced the City Council's Report. 1) Mr. <br />Mihalkanin inquired as to the status of the Unified Development Code and <br />when can the Council expect to see a draft of the Code. Carol Barrett, <br />Director of Planning and Development Services, stated the consultants will <br />be providing Planning and Zoning a draft in September. She stated the <br />Planing and Zoning Commission will schedule a series of community <br />meetings, and she hopes the Council will receive the Unified Development <br />Code in December. 2) Ms. Narvaiz stated she and Mr. Thomaides went with <br />the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce on their trip to Nebraska to visit <br />the Great Trails Monument. She stated the San Marcos Area Chamber of <br />Commerce would be holding a public meeting in the near future to discuss <br />their trip. 3) Ms. Narvaiz informed the Council of the death of John <br />Cooper, a past member of the Main Street Advisory Board. 4) Mr. Montoya <br />wished his dad a Happy Birthday. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, Section 551.074, to discuss the evaluation of a public <br />officer (City Attorney) and duties of a public officer (City Manager). <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session at 11:15 <br />p.m. and Ms. Narvaiz seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved the Council reconvene at 12:02 a.m. and Mr. Taylor <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:03 a.m. on motion made by Mr. Mihalkanin and <br />seconded by Mr. Montoya. <br /> <br /> Robert Habingreither <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />Susan Clifford Narvai~. /~ -~'John Thomaides <br />Council Member Council Member <br /> <br /> <br />
