~/J
PLANNED RESOURCES
THE FOLLOWING ARE ACKNOWLEDGED BY TIlE GANG TASK FORCE AS ESSENTIAL
COMPONENTS OF A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO ADDRESS THE GANG PROBLEM
-- HAYS COUNTY
. This resource will allow the community to demonstrate to youth that they are
accountable for their actions, and that there are consequences for their behavior. The
Task Force applauds the County for approving the building of this facility. We
encourage the County to complete this project as expeditiously as possible.
. .
CITY OF SAN MARCOS I SMCISD PARTNERSHIPS
The Task Force commends both the City and the School District for planning the
cooperative ventures listed below for the benefit of our youth. Making these
plans a reality should be a priority for us all.
~y/ S~ñilli1}~ ã}' tn"é Tslil p!'F Qi~'§L W ôfp~r~Q~~~
San Marcos Police Department and the school district are reviewing the potential benefits of
having an officer on the High School and Junior High campuses.
~~j!i~9) J m~1! 0 Î1 ~~ tÌylalqg ~(tër1S£h.W~~
Students who are not eligilble for school extra curricular activities need after school
activities to give them a sense of belonging and opportunities for success.
! CITY
~ ~~~~ ~yiP ani f{d~ltò'~:qií~fiYi"f~
. Through the generosity of the Price family, the City received property to be used as a
youth activity center in May of last year. The City Council, in a demonstration of
commitment to the youth of the community, voted funds to renovate the property and
provide programming. Due to unknown obstacles, this building sits idle, with
renovations not yet underway, and projected opening dates have been moved back time
and time again, to the point that the members of the Task Force question the
commitment of those responsible for following the Council's direction, and ask the
Council to move this project to the top of the list of priorities for city staff.
San.
