The trails are maintained on a regular <br /> basis by grass cutting adjacent to the trails and pruning branches <br /> - extending into the trail. Trash receptacles are provided at <br /> regular intervals along the trails and are emptied regularly. <br /> - The City of San Marcos hereby certifies that it will continue to <br /> operate and maintain the proposed trails as well as the existing <br /> trail system. <br /> - 14. Describe me degree to wlùch me project will improve the ~eo~raphic distribution of <br /> rccr~tional trails in the State of Texas. <br /> The proposed trails include approximately 310 lineal feet of raised <br /> trail over "wetlands". This trail will afford controlled access to <br /> "wetland" for viewing the flora making up the "wetland" as well as <br /> preventing trespass and subsequent deterioration of the "wetland". <br /> This type of trail will be the first in the service area. <br /> - <br /> 15. Describe how project would use innovative design to accommodate multiple uses, <br /> provide disabléd a.ccess, proteCt environmental features, or solve a site .,problem. <br /> As discussed above the 310 lineal feet of raised trail over the <br /> "wetland" involves an innovative design to acconunodate the trail <br /> users as well as affording handicapped access to a portion of the <br /> river currently inaccessible to the handicapped. <br /> 16. Describe your experience wiÙl similar projectS and discuss successful past trail related <br /> accomplishrnent.s. .. <br /> . <br /> The City of San Marcos has constructed and currently maintains 1.39 <br /> miles of trail within the San Marcos River Corridor. The trails <br /> were constructed in-house by Public Works Department and Parks and <br /> Recreation' Department staff. The experience gained in t~e <br /> construction of those trails will be brought to bear on thl.S <br /> project if it is approved.
