VASQUEZ August 11, 1994 <br /> EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br /> . . <br /> ISTEA Enhancement Program <br /> Texas Department of Transportation <br /> C lJì'\ITY 125 East Eleventh Street <br /> ~~'" ICES Austin, TX 78701-2602 <br /> ENERGY <br /> AsSISTANCE RE: San Marcos River Gateway Hike and Bike Trail System <br /> FAMILY Dear Review Committee Member: <br /> PLANNING <br /> HEAD Community Action, Inc. of Hays, Caldwell, and Blanco Counties wishes <br /> START to express its enthusiastic support for the application for funding of a <br /> LEGAL San Marcos River Gateway Hike and Bike Trail System. <br /> AID <br /> PRI~1ARY The trail system would certainly enhance the city's park and <br /> HEALTH recreational facilities, but beyond that, it could also be of great value <br /> CARE in the everyday lives of the city's low and moderate income families. <br /> RURAL HEALTH As planned, the system would provide improved access to municipal, <br /> PROGRA~1 FOR city, university, and recreational facilities for people with limited or no <br /> OLDER ADULTS private motor transportation. Many of the people who receive senior <br /> SENIOR citizens services, transportation, primary health care services, energy <br /> CITIZE:\S assistance, and family planning services from our agency would benefit. <br /> SERVICES <br /> TRA RTATION Our agency's mission is to encourage various organizations and citizens <br /> in our community to take action to improve. the quality of life for low <br /> WEI, I Ht..?IZA TlON income residents of our area.
