The shutoff valve shall be located and <br /> accessible in a valve box with a readily removable access <br /> cover which extends to grade level. When drain valves <br /> are provided on the distribution piping or other portion <br /> of the water supply system, such drains shall be above <br /> grade or otherwise located to prevent the possibility of <br /> backflow into the piping system after the system has been <br /> drained. <br /> 1210 is amended by addinq 1210.1.5 as follows: <br /> <br /> 1210.1.5 Polybutylene (PB) plastic pipe or tubing shall <br /> not be used under slabs or inside structures on new <br /> construction. It may be used to repair existing systems <br /> consisting of polybutylene materials. . <br /> ~ <br /> 1302 is amended by addinq 1302.6 as follows: <br /> <br /> 1302.6 Minimum size. <br /> No building sewer pipe shall be less than four inches in <br /> diameter. <br /> Sec. 5-44 to 5-49. Reserved. <br /> ARTICLE IV. GAS CODE <br /> , <br /> Sec. 5-50. Standard Gas Code Adopted. <br /> The Standard Gas Code, 1991 edition, including Appendices <br /> A and D and the 1992 revisions, published by the Southern <br /> Building Code Congress International, Inc., is adopted <br /> herein by reference. <br /> Sec. 5-51. Licensing. <br /> (a) A person applying for a gas permit must be: <br /> (1) a licensed Master Plumber under state law; or, <br /> (2) exempt from the licensing law. <br /> (b) Gas work by maintenance persons exempt from state <br /> licensing is subject to the following restrictions: <br /> (1) Only maintenance of existing gas systems such <br /> as replacing stops or the piping between the <br /> stop and the appliance served may be <br /> performed. <br /> (2) A maintenance person may perform gas <br /> maintenance work only upon property owned by <br /> the person's employer. A maintenance person <br /> who performs such work upon the property of <br /> more than one person lS deemed to be <br /> performing gas work for the general public and <br /> must be a State-licensed plumber. <br /> Sec. 5-52.
