<br /> , 2/P It <br /> -~ <br /> -. <br /> -2- <br />(d) All licenses issued under this section shall expire <br />on the last day of the month of the licensee's birth. .In <br />the event that a person's birthday falls in a manner as to <br />render the license valid for less than a full year, the '"" <br />licensing fee shall be prorated based on a monthly basis. .~. <br /> " -~ <br />(e) No license shall be required of a person who., <br />performs building activities on a structure owned and <br />occupied by the person as a residence. However, a building I <br /> ¡ <br />permit shall be required and all other provisions of this <br />Chapter shall apply. <br />Sec. 5-3. Building Code Amendments. <br />The building code adopted by section 5-1 is amended as <br />set out in this section. <br />101.4 is amended to read as follows: <br />101.4 Building Inspection Division <br /> The Building Inspection Division is her~by established <br />within the Planning and Development Services Department. <br />This division shall be supervised by the building <br />official. The building official may designate a person <br />to perform the duties and exercise the authority of the <br />building official during the official's absence or <br />disability. <br />101.4.1 throuqh 101.4.4 are deleted. <br />101.4.5 is amended to read as follows: . <br /> I <br />101.4.5 Restrictions on Employees <br /> In addition to the restrictions contained in the city <br />Code of Ethics and Employee Handbook, employees of the <br />Building Inspection Division shall not have a financial <br />interest in any construction activity within the city <br />limits. The term "construction activity" includes: <br /> a. The preparation of plans, specifications or cost <br /> estimates for any construction work; <br /> b. The furnishing of labor, materials or supplies <br /> for any construction work; <br /> c. The provision of maintenance or repair services, <br /> or replacement parts, supplies, equipment or <br /> appliances for any existing structure; <br /> d. The provision of construction consulting or <br /> project management services; and, <br /> e. The provision of real estate inspection services. <br />This restriction shall not extend to an employee's <br />interest in a residence owned and occupied by the <br />employee as a homestead. An employee shall not be <br />involved in the plan review, permit issuance or <br />inspections of any construction work on the employee's <br />homestead. <br />101.4.6 is amended to read as follows: <br />101.4.6 Records <br />The building official shall cause a record to be kept of <br />
