116 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />march 9, 1981 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that the agent for the proposed zoning change <br />had expressed a willingness to provide right-of-way to the City. Mr. <br />Tarbutton moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading. Mrs. Norris <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second reading, <br />the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, GRANTING TO RIVER TAXI SERVICE A FRANCHISE <br />FOR THREE YEARS TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A TAXI SERVICE <br />WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF TRANSPORTING PERSONS USING INNERTUBES ON THE SAN MARCOS <br />RIVER; PRESCRIBING TERMS, CONDITIONS, OBLIGATIONS AND <br />LIMITATIONS UPON WHICH FRANCHISE SHALL BE EXERCISED AND <br />SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading. Mr. Tarbutton <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The City Attorney added <br />that River Taxi Service should provide their expected route and have their <br />vehicle inspected by the Police Department prior to final passage of the <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a public hearing and first reading <br />on changing the zoning of Lots 63 and 64 in Block 8 of the Westover Addition <br />from "R-2" (Duplex) to "TH" (Townhouse). Mr. Stokes then opened the public <br />hearing. Jake Krauskopf, agent for the applicant addressed Council on the <br />proposed zoning change. No one else wished to speak either for or against <br />the zoning change. Mr. Stokes then closed the public hearing. The City <br />Secretary then read the Ordinance in its entirety, the caption of which <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, <br />1980 (VOL. 54) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 63 AND <br />64 IN BLOCK 8 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION FROM "R-2" <br />(DUPLEX) TO "TIt" (TOWNHOUSE). <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. Mrs. Norris <br />seconded the motion, which passed, unanimously. The City Manager noted that <br />there were no traffic problems in this area and no additional right-of-way <br />was required. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a public hearing and first reading <br />on zoning of 47.6 acres out of J.M. Veramendi League No. One, located on <br />Hunter Road, from 'AO" (Agricultural-Open Space) to "C" (Commercial). Mr. <br />Stokes then opened the public hearing. Mr. Smith, applicant, stated that <br />this parcel of land was part of a larger tract to be surrounded by multi- <br />family and a large green belt area. No one else wished to speak either for <br />or against the zoning request. Mr. Stokes then closed the public hearing. <br />The City Secretary then read the Ordinance in its entirety, the caption of <br />which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, <br />1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 47.6 ACRES OUT OF J.M. VERAMENDI <br />LEAGUE NO. ONE, LOCATED ON HUNTER ROAD, FROM "AO" <br />(AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a report on proposed annexations. <br />The City Manager presented a report on the proposed Barker-Warren annexation. <br />He then stated that there had been a mistake in the notice published in <br />connection with the Cape's Camp annexation and that including the sewer <br />treatment plant in the area to be annexed might be considered. <br /> <br /> <br />
