117 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />march 9, 1981 <br /> <br />page six <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration the annexation of Barker-Warren <br />property. He stated that there was a mistake in the publication and that <br />the hearing would have to be rescheduled and that he would like to hear <br />from those in favor or opposed to the annexation at that time. Mr. James <br />moved to reschedule the public hearing for April 13th. Mrs. Norris seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. James moved to include the <br />sewer plant in the Cape's Camp annexation and to schedule the public hearing <br />for April 13th. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. ' <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first reading <br />annexing 57.67 acres, more or less, known as the Brittian property on <br />Staples Road, read in its entirety, the caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS TRACT <br />OF LAND CONTAINING APPROXImaTELY 57.67 ACRES, MORE OR <br />LESS, LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION <br />OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES; <br />EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE <br />SAID TRACT; G~NTING TO THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TRACT <br />ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID <br />CITY; BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND <br />ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Stokes directed staff <br />to report back to Council about annexing additional property in this area. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on emergency amending <br />Section 3-48 of the Code of Ordinances requiring a payment for rabies <br />vaccination, read in its entirety, the caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ~ENDING SECTION 3-48, ENTITLED "DISPOS- <br />ITION OF UNCLAIMED ANIMALS", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO REQUIRE THE PAYMENT OF A <br />FEE OF SIX DOLLARS ($6.00) FOR A CERTIFICATE ENTITLING <br />THE POSSESSOR TO HAVE AN ANIMAL VACCINATED FOR RABIES, <br />SAID PAYMENT TO BE ~.~DE BY A PERSON ADOPTING AN ANIMAL <br />WHICH HAS BEEN IMPOUNDED BY THE CITY OF SAN ~RCOS, TEXAS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Ordinance on emergency. <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James seconded <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a Resolution in support of the <br />Texas Triangle Corridor, the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE TEXAS TRIANGLE <br />CORRIDOR WHICH WOULD PROVIDE PASSENGER RAIL TRANSPORTATION <br />LINKING THE CITIES OF AND BETWEEN FORT WORTH, DALLAS, <br />HOUSTON AND SAN ANTONIO AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution. <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Tarbutton seconded the <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a Resolution approving a contra< <br />between the Texas Department of Community Affairs and the City of San <br />Marcos, thecaption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />~RCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TEXAS <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS FOR THE PERFOk~LANCE BY CITY OF PERSONNEL <br />~.~NAGEMENT AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES PERTAINING TO PERFORMANCE <br />~NAGEMENT BASED ON A FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE PERSONNEL <br />POLICY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRAC~ <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> <br />
